The Party.

E decided that she wanted a cooking birthday party, so we found some really cute ideas on Family Fun. We had 9 girls over and had so much fun! We started by decorating Chef hats that E and I had made earlier. Then we made some pizza. Then they played charades using food items. Some of the ideas were VERY creative! We ate the pizzas and salad on a stick and then went in for present opening. After that we had cake and ice cream. E had a lot of fun and I think the party was a success.
Present opening time.

The spectators.

E wanted a rainbow cake. Here is a picture from the outside.

Here is what it looked like from the inside. It was a fun cake.

Fun was had by all.

Our Birthday Girl.

This one it 9 years old today. She is a joy in our lives and is a wonderful big sister. It has been fun watching her grow and become the person that she is. She has always been outgoing and friendly. She loves to read, and play the piano. She loves school! She hates it when she misses a day. She always has a smile and is willing to play with her younger siblings. Happy Birthday EDG! We LOVE you!

February and what I have been up too.

February started out all right. I decided it was time for a hair cut and some color. I went to a salon just up the street from us (walking through the 6 inches of snow that had just fallen) and had them cut and highlight my hair. I love it! I also spent time painting and doing crafts. Here are two of my projects. I had a friend cut the letters out for me last year and finally got around to painting them. I had fun and really like the way they turned out!

What we did in January. A photo essay.

Our year started out just right with a lot of Chocolate. Nathan gave me a chocolate fountain for Christmas and we had fun trying it out. Of course some showed it more than others :) We also decided this year that we would exercise more. H decided that she need to wear her "exercise shoes" and have a water bottle just like Mom.
We were able to play in snow. This is the last of the first snowman of the year. We now have a foot of snow outside to play in and we will get more this week!

H decided to start her new years goals early and decided she wanted to be potty trained. At least she like the "panties" idea and will put on any that she can find.

We had a couple days of heavy rain so we put aside our winter coats and donned our rain coats for the 50 degree weather!

Many hours were spent playing with toys received for Christmas. These two played will play with J's magnetix (here they are playing with J's Bionicles) for hours.

Who doesn't love staying in their pajamas all day and playing! These kids had fun playing train and ring a round the rosies.

We ended the month with picnics in the living room on a John Deere blanket that Nathan won at the Radiology Holiday Party!

All in all January was a good month with only a few colds to report and not much else.

Bring it on!

Welcome 2010. We are ready for you.

Christmas Eve

Our Nativity enactment. E as an angel, J as a Shepherd, K as Mary, Nathan ended up being Joseph and the donkey. H and I were wise men.
Little H really only wanted to be the nurse and kept taking the baby. Here are the kids in the new PJ's. I attempted to make them this year. I only have to make a couple of adjustments. I think they turned out fun. Nathan and I also have PJ pants that I made.
We put the kids to bed around 8 and then stayed up to set a few things up for the morning. We ended up getting a new flat screen and a wii. Nathan also had to put together a new entertainment center. It was a long night, but it was fun to have everything set up.

Family Pictures

We had an impromptu photo session with our kids. Here are some of the shots we got. It was really hard to convince a one year old to hold still.
We almost got a good one.
Here is another try if K hadn't pouted. She wasn't very happy that I didn't let her wear a skirt.

H found her belly button. This was a great one, but when I enlarged it J has his lip pulled in.

This is my favorite! It really shows who rules the roost in our home.

This is the one we ended up going with. We got all of the faces! What cute kids.
