Our library's summer reading program's theme this year was "Catch the reading bug". Each of the kids received a little plastic bug collecting kit at the opening activity. My kids have been catching bugs all summer. I have been very surprised at what my oldest will pick up. She was catching fire flies, ants, anything she could. If you know my daughter you also know that she has been terrified of EVERYTHING! Dogs, cats, fires, thunder, lightning. At the end of the summer she won a homemade bug catcher. She found 2 Caterpillars the other day and is now feeding them our herbs (she found them on our parsley). She was very excited to hold them and let them crawl all over her!

That is the coolest caterpillar I've ever seen. You're library system must be the same as ours because they had a bug theme this summer for their reading program too.
