I posted a bunch today so be sure to scroll down and read everything.
This past weekend was our spring break. We celebrated by going to Washington D.C. Nathan has a cousin there and we had so much fun staying with them. On Friday we made it in to the Air and Space Museum. We had braved the subway with our kids and after going through one museum, we decided to just head home. We stopped by the D.C. Temple so that the kids could 'touch the Temple'. Nathan and I were able to go back later for the 8:30 session. This was great except for the fact that we had stayed up talking until 2 the night before :)
Saturday the weather was supposed to be nice so that we could get pictures outside. It rained all day. We were able to get some pictures inside and at a Mall. We had a few turn out.
For Easter we had fun going to church and spending time as a family. I didn't get any pictures taken before church and the kids changed too fast after church. Maybe next year!
I turned 29 on the 6. Nathan surprised me with breakfast in bed and told me he had taken the day off. He had arranged it a month ago, but had kept it a secret. He had made waffles and had E deliver the waffle and J deliver the roses Nathan had gotten me. We sent E and J off to school, then we went shopping and out to eat for lunch. We rented Bedtime Stories to watch with the kids after school. Nathan made me a very yummy dinner, then we had a very lemony birthday cake. It was a wonderful birthday, and Nathan really spoiled me!
At the end of March we made a trip to Indianapolis to visit my sister Carrie and family. My parents and sister Hannah were also there visiting. We had a ton of fun. We went to the Indianapolis speed way and got to see the race car museum. We went hiking around Indian Mounds state park. We also went swimming which was a fun treat. The kids had a great time seeing Grandma and Grandpa and playing with their cousins. Nathan and I had a double date with Carrie and Jordan (we let Hannah tag along) and saw the movie Bedtime Stories. My Dad took the kids fishing a couple times, but they didn't catch anything. They also got to help plant a garden! It was a fun vacation.

On April Fool's day our kids woke up very excited. They had planned the day before how they were going to trick us. E and J in unison said, "Mom there is a chicken in the yard and it is laying an egg!" Amid all the laughter I heard J whisper in E's ear, "When do we say April Fools Day". It was really cute.
So my trick for the kids was I made meatloaf cupcakes with potato frosting for dinner. I think Nathan and I were the only ones that ate them. H really liked the potatoes though:)
This weekend Dawn, H, and I took a short trip to Erie, PA to attend a concert. Our trip was a lot of fun. We left shortly after 1:30 pm after I went ate lunch with J, who was the "Star of the Week" at his preschool and was able to invite a special guest to eat lunch.
Our drive to Erie was pretty uneventful until we were pulling into Erie and there was an odd sound coming from the tires. A car that pulled up next to us at a stop light informed us that the front tire was flat. We found a gas station that charged 75 cents for air. I filled up the tire and we haven't had anymore problems.
We had H with us, and she had a funny smell emanating from her carseat. She had a nice blowout. Dawn changed her while I was filled up the tire. We then scurried over to Olive Garden for a dinner for Dawn's sake. It was a crowded Friday night, but Dawn has really wanted to eat at the Olive Garden. After our meal was finally over, we quickly paid and hurried to check into our hotel, change and get to the concert.
The concert was hosted by the Mercyhurst College music department and we had made arrangements to have one of the student ushers babysit for us. The concert was great. This is a sample of the concert. The concert is titled "A Little Nightmare Music". It was their first concert in the U.S. and they debuted in Erie, PA on Friday the 13th. Appropriate.
After the concert, we were going to stop somewhere for a dessert, and decided on Dairy Queen. We drove for a while and finally found a Dairy Queen at 10:02 p.m. They must have closed at 10:00 because there were still workers inside, but nobody would answer the drive thru. Plan B was to stop by Wegman's and just buy a treat and take it to our hotel. While I was paying, I couldn't find my credit card. I had not seen it since rushing out of the Olive Garden. When I got back in the car with Dawn I asked if I had given my card to her with the receipts. She said no. We went back to the hotel and I looked through everything. No card. I called Olive Garden and asked if they had it, and they did, but they were already closed. I could pick it up in the morning at 11:00 am when they open. That wouldn't work since we had left the kids with babysitters who would want us to get home earlier than 3:30, so they obtained permission from the manager to open the door for me if I came by to get it. I was glad I didn't have to call the credit card company to suspend my card.
The next morning we decided we should get something for the kids. We were going to stop by Target to get something, but right next to the Target was a Book Outlet with 70% off of everything. It was a great find. We bought about $90 of books for around $25.
I walked into the house before Dawn. When the E saw me she was excited, jumped off the couch, and ran right past me to see where Dawn was. I guess they love their mother.
For home evening we talked about how Adam was given dominion over the earth. I asked the kids what "dominion" means?
J excitedly yelled out, "Cows!!"
To his credit, we were reading from Genesis chapter 1 where it says, "and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth..."
K turned 3 on the 18. She is our little cheeser. She loves to smile, laugh, and play with E and J. She smothers H with love. She is our little princess and lives in dress ups. We had a princess party with "Pinkalious" cupcakes. We love you K. Happy Birthday! Opening presents.
We played kiss the frog prince. They loved it.
